Not Quite Summer - Original

This painting was inspired by the coastal grasslands found between Neskowin (my absolute favorite place on the Oregon coast) and Pacific City in May. I was so struck by the vivid greens against the bright blues along with the shapes made by the river.

Grassland habitats are one of the most endangered habitats in the United States. One-third of grassland bird species are on the watch list, marked most at risk of extinction. A recent trip to the Oregon coast reminded me of the important part grasslands play in the beauty of Oregon.
